Most electric dryers are 220 with a neutral. Inside the machine, they use one leg and neutral to power the timer and the light both of which are normally 120 V Do you have a volt meter? And do you have a plug in the wall into which you want to plug the dryer?
If you have a volt meter measure between any two of the three slots in (or on) the wall outlet. You will get 120 VAC or 220 VAC. Measure the remaining slot you didnt measure and any other slot.
You will get the same results. At the common point where you got 120 (120 from both sides, that is neutral. Inside the dryer should be an indicator of where the hot legs gl as well as the neutral. You can check which wire supplies which blade with a simple contuinity test to be sure if there are no marks on the wire. I hope this helps Sep 07, 2009. The TPS is located on the metal horn shaped tube behind the air intake.

You take the airfilter assembly off and then you will see a big butterfly plate in the airhorn. There will be a small electric device about the size of a lighter attached to the right side of the airhorn.

It has 1 electric plug and 2 very tight screws. You undo the connections and screws and swap it with the new part. There is a slot to match the slot in the shaft of the butterfly shaft on the airhorn.
You line up those two slots and reassemble. Disconnect your neg battery cable 10 minutes to clear the computer. That should do it.
Aug 10, 2009. When you plug something into a conventional duplex receptacle (the type that receives two appliance plugs), and the device doesn't work, trouble shooting the problem is fairly simple. For large receptacles that run on 220 to 240 volts, such as ranges and dryers and air conditioners, call an electrician unless you're well-versed in electrical repairs and safety issues. Always check when installing if the appliance is rated from 15 to 50 amps, 240 volts, and 20 to 50 amps, 120/240 volts. They have two hot wires (red and black) and a separate grounding wire.

Receptacle basics Conventional duplex receptacles have two places to plug in electrical cords or devices. Each of those two places includes one narrow slot, one wide slot, and a semicircular hole. The narrow slot is the 'hot' side, connected to the black wire of the electrical system. The wide slot is the 'neutral' side, connected to the white wire. And the semicircular hole is the ground, connected to a bare or green wire or the electrical system's ground.

Many electrical plugs have one wide blade and one narrow blade (and, in some cases, a ground plug) that match the receptacle's slots to insure that the circuit is properly connected to the electrical device. Wires may be attached to screws on each side of the receptacle or plugged into terminal holes in the back of the receptacle. Whether wires attached to screw terminals or are pushed into rear-mount terminals, the screw terminals on the sides of the receptacle are hot (charged) so don't touch them! Jan 18, 2006.
