I ve got a case ih 8465 about the same baler The JD splices that they are talking about are called alligator clips they work great but the biggest problem that i have had with them is the pins that go threw the lasses like to break so if you go to them kept a good i on the pins but will not have to weary about the lasses failing. The starter flaps make shear you kept them in good shape it will make starting a bale a snap if you start to have problems starting a bale the stater flaps is the problem. As fare as psi with grass mix hay 1900 to 2000 psi is wear i try to bale at make a great bale try to bale 5 to 6 mph. Fine steam alfalfa i will back down to 1800 psi you will get a great looking bale and with all the driving to make a bale it will be pack it tight. On the drive monitor kept the out side belts in specs or to factory length if you got the owners manual it has got a good section in it to tall you haw to set it if it get out of calibration.

Case 8465 Baler Forum
I have had to put in some rollers and bearing but nothing big in repairs has been a great baler. An update on the 8460. It makes a very good sized and good looking bale, for a twine baler. I cannot run really fast in grass hay that is higher in moisture, but probadly should not be baling that wet anyway, but this year you got your hay washed if you didn't. The auto mode is great when you get the driving sensors correctly adjusted, Using a 7000 ford on it at present, but am considering turning gear box over and using one of the deeres as the ford is a little light for it.
Any way, I would buy it again if I had it to do over. A good baler for the money.
