97 Ninja Zx7 Service Manual
Hey guys, i just bought a 1997 Kawasaki ZX7R and i've been trying to find an online service manual so that i might be able to do minor maintenance jobs on it such as oil changes.Can anybody give me some tips on what i can do?I used to do oil changes on my 2000 Ninja 250 easily, but on this bike im not sure where to begin.The most ive found is the drain plug bolt lol.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Filter is spin on at the front. Oil goes in right side and you have the plug?
Same process as the 250. How do you like this so far? Its a huge bike isnt it? Its weird that the passanger foot pegs are beside the riders seat. Or is that just a illusion?the passenger pegs are where the riders seat ends so it doesnt make too much of a difference.The weight on the other hand.LOL.whooo.its a workout pushing it out of parking spots, the garage,you name it.I dont like the way it shifts from first to second either.all the other gears are fine tho.and im no expert.in fact im no where even near to one, but compared to the 250, you gotta keep the revvs above 3000 for it to ride smoothly.

Overall.i LOVE it.i've always liked the design which was the main reason i got it. Here's a good guide to carb cleaning.its for a zx6r slight differences. Zx7r has the main throttle linkage inbetween cyl 2 and cyl 3, so to disconnect the throttle cables u have to disconnect them from the throttle tube first.
U got one vacuum line, one fuel line, 3 cables (2 throttle, one choke) and then u disconnect the 4 clamps to the cyl and off she comes.obviously thats after u've removed the fairings, seat, tank and the airbox. Once u got the carb on the bench, follow the link up top. Make sure your main jets are in teh right cilinders.mine were reverse (its 180's in the middle two carbs and 170's in the outter) zx7r and zx9r are close.real close.the zx9r motor from mid 90's fits in with a few custom brackets.
